I never thought I'd want a Chevy, but the Volt might change my mind. Check out the Chevy Volt info page. As a normal commuter you could never use a drop of gasoline. If you drive a bit more, you could get effectively 150 mpg. Even all gas, you're at 50 mpg with a 600+ mile range. talk about a killer app. Reduce global warming, drain resources from the Middle East, and lower gas prices in one swoop.
Now if we could only build more nuclear plants, windmills, and solar panels...
